The Street Monster Issue 1

12-year old Woyaga Derrick wakes up in Kampala after accidentally falling asleep on a food track heading to the big city from his home in Mbale district. Wandering aimlessly for days, helpless and starving bewildered by the cruelty of the world around him towards the street child, he is saved by a gang of street children when some agents forcefully subdue him. Thankful to the new gang for saving his life from the ruthless agents, he agrees to live with them but little does he know they only saved him to use him as a tool to commit atrocities unimaginable in the name of survival.

Step Mothers

“Step Mothers” is a story that revolves around the life of a 12-year-old girl obsessed with barely the concealed pain of losing her biological mother that manifests as indifference towards her loving and over caring step mother. Written by Sandra, a 13-year-old winner of the Reminac Comics Writing Competition from Firm Foundation Primary School, the story takes a tragic turn from motherly love towards issues of extreme child abuse, a sadistic cruelty that brings forth a realization that forever changes the young girl’s understanding of motherly love.

The Helper Of God Issue 1

In a world where evil is running rampant there in the depths of hopelessness and darkness, emerges a hero to confront the dark times and give hope to the hopeless and helpless. Written by 10-year-old Mary, the first winner of the Reminac Comics Writing Competition from Eliana Junior School, the book is a message of love, hope, courage and faith in times of adversity.

The Three Musicians is a story that revolves around three girls with a dream that is too big to ever come true. But with great faith, courage, hard work and determination, the three girls find themselves in reach of an opportunity that could forever change their lives. Written by 12-year-old Mitchelle, winner of the Reminac Comics Writing competition from Kitante primary school, Enjoy the adventures of the 3 girls as they attempt the impossible in pursuit of a dream held so dear in their hearts.

School Days Issue 1

School Days rotates around the life of 10-year-old Mutebi Emma trying desperately to keep up his grades while the commotion from his new school life and home life threatens to shake his resolve.

In Issue 1, Emma is anxiously trying to get to school on time while dealing with his care free little brother who cares nothing for Emma’s issues. This forces Emma to do the unthinkable in order to get to class or risk missing yet another day of school. A series of funny events unfold that end with Emma learning a valuable lesson.

School Days Issue 2

The second issue of school days gives us a proper feel of Emma’s school and introduces us to more of Emma ‘s friends and their personalities. It opens up the series to a lot of possibilities. The sibling feud between him and his little brother Kevin grows stronger as Emma is forced into the most unpredictable of actions to hide the fact that he forgot his homework. His efforts are however met with disastrous consequences in the funniest twist of events forcing him to learn yet another valuable life lesson.

It’s exam period. The air in Emma ‘s school changes as kids become more and more serious in preparation for mid-term exams but Emma remains unbothered. School days issue 3 digs deeper into the irresponsible side of Emma’s personality. His actions catch up to him quickly in the most dramatic of ways when exams start.

School Days Covid-19 Spin-off

In 2020, the government of Uganda issued a nation wide lockdown. Emma did not yet know or understand what had happened, the gravity of it and how it would affect his life but little did he know that he would find out much sooner than he had expected.

The School Days Covid-19 Spin-off takes place outside of the original  “School days comic book series” to address the adverse implications of covid-19 on children and their education.

FIRST TIME ON AN AEROPLANE

Joshua is a smart well behaved child beloved and adored by his parents, teachers and even the non-teaching staff because of his kind personality and strict adherence to school policy and teachers’ instructions. The story takes place towards the end of the school term. After completing all his school assignments and taking extra initiative to research on what his teacher was yet to teach, Joshua returns home to find his mom with exciting news from his aunt overseas who invites the whole family on a thrilling trip to America which forever changes Joshua’s life.
